PARASITE
MDH_PFALCI Plasmodium falciparum isolate 3D7. Cloned from a unicellular protozoan parasite of humans, and the deadliest species of Plasmodium that cause malaria in humans. (DataSheet / SnapGeneFile)
TbcMDH pBMB2 Cytosolic MDH from Trypanosoma brucei. Tb is a parasitic kinetoplasid carried by tsetse flies in sub-Saharan Africa and infection in humans causes sleeping sickness. Kinetoplasts are flagellated protozoan parasites and as a family attack nearly all animal, plant and insect groups. Under construct (DataSheet / SnapGeneFile)
TbmMDH pBMB1 Mitochondrial MDH from Trypanosoma brucei.
TbgMDH pBMB3 Glycosomal MDH from Trypanosoma brucei. T bucei is a parasitic kinetoplasid carried by tsetse flies in sub-Saharan Africa and infection in humans causes sleeping sickness. Kinetoplasts are flagellated protozoan parasites and as a family attack nearly all animal, plant and insect groups. Like other species, Tb MDH has mitochondrial, cytosolic and glycosomal isoforms. His tag is on the N term of MDH. The c-term includes a peptide directing the protein to glycosomes. Not typically removed after import. Under construct (DataSheet / SnapGeneFile)
LmexmMDH pBMB9 Mitochondrial MDH from Leishmania mexicana. L. mex is a leishmania of the genus trypanosomes spread by sandflies. This variant if found in Mexico and central America. These are unicellular eukaryotic parasites with organelles including kinetoplasts and flagella. Under construct (DataSheet / SnapGeneFile)
Q5CYZ3_CRYPI AKA Cp-MDH Protozoan parasite (cryptosporidium parvum in the malaria family – divergent from toxoplasma and plasmodium parasites) of the intestinal track. This is a cytosolic enzyme that is structurally very similar to LDH and is reported to have only one amino acid different in the active site and may be responsible for the MDH-like substrate specificity. Under construct (DataSheet / SnapGeneFile)
O96518_TRIVA (O96518) aka TvLDH2 L91R aka TV LDH/MDH. The clone is lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) from Trichomonas vaginalis (Tv) is more related to malate dehydrogenase (MDH) than to other lactate dehydrogenases of other species due to convergent evolution. It was discovered that mutating (L91R) on LDH transformed the gene into a TvMDH. Under construct (DataSheet / SnapGeneFile)
